Welcome to DawgPainter!!!  Animal portraits and wildlife art by Lee Call, rendered in acrylic on canvas.   Lee was born in Germany, but grew up in Arizona, and takes the inspiration for their bright artwork from the desert Southwest.   Lee started out self-taught painting around the turn of the century, and sold their first commissioned work in 2001. Their work has shown in various venues throughout Arizona, and across the country. Lee’s goal with DawgPainter is to use dynamic color and painterly techniques to capture our connection to animals and the purity and joy we can find in the natural world.  In 2013, Lee graduated cum laude from Utah Valley University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Illustration. Lee is an advocate of no-kill animal rescue and conservation, and works with various rescue and shelter organizations through the U.S and abroad.  Lee lives and works in AZ.
